A young woman, Constance, who is reading the novel “La lectrice”, identifies with his heroine Marie, who was left without a job, hired chtitsey to different people, in each case taking the specific conditions of the reading game. They are dictated both by the needs of participants and works selected for reading — books by Lewis Carroll, guy de Maupassant, Vladimir Lenin, Margaret Duras, finally, the Marquis de Sade. Constance, more immersing in reading the novel and turning into Marie, can no longer distinguish the boundary between fiction and reality.
